MINI-BEAST EXPLORATION & HABITATS
Take a closer look at the fascinating world of minibeasts. Explore the woodland and grasslands and discover how they have adapted to their environment and what they need to survive. Create your own mini-beast to take home.
A SENSE OF NATURE
Use your senses to reveal a whole new world hiding in the woodland. A guided experience that will sharpen your senses and perceptions, allowing for a greater appreciation of the natural world and seasonal changes
Discover colours, patterns and textures in nature. Look at the work of local environmental artists Andy Goldsworthy and Richard Shilling. Learn how to identify natural materials, discover their different properties and use them to create unique natural artwork.
FAIRY TALES & STORYTELLING
Use the natural environment to develop your own fairy tales through story stones, boggarts, rainbow chips & natural storyboards. Storytelling activities will take place in the tipi, weather permitting.
MINI-SHELTERS & DEN BUILDING
Explore Wishing Well Wood and our forest area find out about the different animals that have made the park their home. Discover what they need to survive here and create your own animal home using natural resources.
DESIGN YOUR OWN PARK
Take a guided walk around Park View and discover the amphitheatre, play areas, Café, Eco Pod, kitchen garden and more. Discuss who uses the park and what they use it for, then design your dream park using natural resources.
SOWING THE SEEDS
Look at plant life cycles, how seeds are created, how they travel and what they need to survive. Discover different seeds on the park and make your own mini planter or seed bombs.
